Kuromoji Tea (by Ei-Chi)

$0.00
sold out

Herbal Offering by Ei-Chi
Created by Chie Iwasaki, a dear friend and fellow folk herbalist of the Mt. Daisen region

25g

Known as “the tree that relieves fatigue,” Kuromoji has long been revered as a sacred tree and valued in Japan’s countryside as a traditional health tea.

It contains linalool, a natural compound known to calm the nervous system and reduce stress. With its fresh, forest-like aroma, this tea can help relax both body and mind, while also offering natural antibacterial and antiviral properties.

Nurtured by the rich lands of Mt. Daisen, wild Kuromoji is carefully harvested in sync with the cycles of the moon. The leaves and branches are then slowly hand-roasted in an earthenware pot and blended in just the right balance.

Pouring Guide:

Place the tea leaves in a teapot and slowly pour hot water over them (1 tsp of tea per 180 ml of hot water), just as you would with any herbal tea.

Cover and let it steep gently to bring out the full aroma.

Caffeine-free, gentle on the stomach, and soothing to enjoy before bedtime.

For a stronger brew:
Use 2 teaspoons of tea leaves per 1 liter of water. Bring to a boil, then simmer on low heat for 15 minutes. Let it steep for an additional 20 minutes.

Tried pickling Ooray plums into Umeboshi while in Australia a few years ago.
Tasted very.... umeboshi-esque✨🍈

何年か前にオーストラリアで、ネイティブフルーツの「ウーレイプラム」を使って漬けてみた梅干し。このプラムは完熟したら紫色になって、紫蘇なしでも真っ赤に仕上がった。

If you want to make nocino, don't forget to pick those unripe green walnuts! It's juuuust about that time. You want to go for them while they are still soft on the inside. This Italian liqueur can be sipped on as a digestive or a splash
