Hi, I’m Monica
I am a Zainichi Korean / Canadian based in rural Japan. I work with traditional food skills as a way to move in rhythm with the land and its seasons. It’s also a path of ancestral remembering — a way to weave community and reclaim food as everyday people’s medicine.
I am a birth keeper and postpartum care provider. My approach is holistic and mother-led, honoring the physiologic design of both mama and baby. I believe in supporting women to trust their innate wisdom and sovereignty. My care is rooted in traditional East Asian womb-tending practices — shaped by my cultural lineage, deepened over the past eight years since moving back to my motherland of Japan, and further expanded on through my studies in Thailand.
I’m deeply inspired by slower, hands-on ways of living - not only because it’s vital to know how to create and tend with our own hands, but because it’s a way to reimagine and shape new ways of being in our world today.
Feel free to get in touch, I would be happy to connect with you ☀︎
